All these gifts benefit the children at the Hands of Love Orphanage and School.Sack of rice: £55
A sack of rice will provide one meal for 500 children or will last for several days if supplemented with beans or goat's meat.
Nanny Goat: £25
A nanny goat to join our herd. The goats don't have enough water to produce milk but they produce a very valuable source of meat. Goats are sometimes awarded to children as an educational incentive for good results.
A Metal Box: £20
Essential storage space for personal items.
School Pack: £20
A ring binder, exercise books, pens, pencils, calculator and drawing equipment.
A Uniform including Shoes: £15
Barefoot children in Uganda risk Jiggers Infestation that can retard physical and mental development. They are all very proud to wear their school uniform.
Senior Text Book: £15
In senior school they are working towards their ordinary level exams and the correct text books are essential.
Junior Text Books: £10
In Junior School they are working towards the Primary 7 exam, which is taken at any age when they are ready. The correct text books gives them a big advantage.
A Mosquito Net: £8
Malaria is a crippling and often fatal illness which can be avoided simply by using a mosquito net.
Most of the children do not have beds to sleep in. A blanket is a wonderful comfort at night.
Help us to establish our chicken farm. With little water, egg production is slow but they will provide valuable meat.
Other Gifts
There is always a need for help towards more major items and we launch appeals from time to time for building projects, water provision, exam fees, special meals for the whole orphanage etc. If you are able to help with one of these projects a special gift card will be issued.
