Each child that is sponsored is saved from a life that is lacking not only in the basics of food and clothing, but also in care and hope

Your sponsorship is a personal commitment to give CARE, LOVE and ENCOURAGEMENT to a forsaken child

We encourage you to see child sponsorship with HOL as a long term financial commitment that will grow until your child has achieved his or her potential and a level of independence.

100% of the sponsorship money is used to provide for the child. Any Christmas, birthday or other gifts also go directly to the child. Sponsors receive a photo and letter of thanks from their child whenever it is possible (though please bear in mind the exhaustion of teachers, the lack of communication, primitive conditions and general difficulty of life at the orphanage).  

Letters or postcards from Sponsors mean a lot to the children, especially at Christmas, Easter or on the child’s birthday.

How much does Sponsorship Cost?

For £15 per month your child will receive:

• regular nourishing meals;
• a blanket;
• a mosquito net;
• basic school equipment;
• one uniform & pair of shoes a year and a set of weekend clothing;
• expert coaching in Kampala for major exams. (In 2010 one of our children was 21st out of the whole of Uganda, in his Primary 7 exam.)

£20 or more per month allows you to make a regular extra donation in addition to your child's sponsorship fee, to support the general fund for education, feeding the unsponsored and other costs of the orphanage.

Other Giving, such as Staff Sponsorship, Project Sponsorship (e.g. for a building), gifts for the general education fund or one time donations are also most welcome.
